Cut down on student outreach during the back-to-school rush by setting up your store’s website and email inbox to explain the Equitable or Inclusive Access program. A few suggestions:
Create a university/college email address for Equitable or Inclusive Access-specific student communication. This way, the person managing the Equitable or Inclusive Access program has a filtered space to check for incoming messages. If they are unable to address those emails (e.g. if they are out sick), someone else can easily check the inbox. Make sure at least two people have access to this inbox and clarify who takes the lead on answering.
Explain your Equitable or Inclusive Access program on a dedicated page on the store website. Include the following info:
-
An outline of the program and its goals
-
Savings to students from the previous semester
-
A list of FAQs
-
Instructions for accessing their Equitable or Inclusive Access materials through the LMS and the publisher website
-
Instructions for getting help with Equitable or Inclusive Access issues (your Equitable or Inclusive Access email) or Byrtewave issues (https://brytewavesolve.zendesk.com/)
Prepare the email address, web page, and student access instructions ahead of time. Then you can copy and paste each of these pieces into the detailed emails you send to students after the initial welcome message.
